This beautiful craft was made in the late 19th century. Bats often stand for mystery and the night, but in this artwork, they have taken on an elegant form. Galle’s design is smooth and graceful. The silver-winged bat spreads its wings like a guardian spirit watching over the glass cup. A little mysterious, a bit spooky (eerie)—but that’s exactly what makes it charming! In the West, bats are symbols of darkness and mystery, but in the East, they bring good luck and happiness! This piece feels like a silent conversation between two cultures.
